ASCP
American Society of Consulting Pharmacists
ASCP works with the elderly population of Erie to improve their medication adherence and to give students the opportunity to practice interacting with this population. ASCP does activities with the residents at Millcreek Manor. Furthermore, we raise awareness about Alzheimer’s through participation and volunteer work with the Erie Alzheimer’s Walk. Finally, ASCP gives the opportunity to learn the important role that geriatric pharmacists have in a nursing home setting and their impact on the lives of the elderly. In doing so, we hope to complete the mission of ASCP by becoming pharmacists who provide higher quality of care for the older person by ensuring appropriate use of medication.
